SUPINE DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING

Sets: 1

Reps: 20

  • Lie flat on your back and allow your legs to extend straight out (or as far as you can tolerate).

  • You may feel some tightness in your abdomen but there should be no pain or strong pulling at your incision.

  • Take some deep breaths here:

    • Inhale: allow the ribcage to expand like a big umbrella. Abdominals and pelvic floor relax and lengthen.

    • Exhale: allow the ribcage to depress/recoil back to neutral.
